National CND hosted a discussion on 20th July 2020 with Professor Andy Stirling and Dr Phil Johnstone, in conversation with CND Chair Dave Webb. This meeting highlighted the connections between the UK’s nuclear weapons programme and nuclear power. This conversation was hosted by CND General Secretary Kate Hudson. You can watch the video here.
Andy Stirling is a Professor of Science and Technology Policy at the Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex, and has served as an adviser to the EC, UK and other governments across a range of issues in the politics of science, technology and innovation.
Dr Phil Johnstone is a Research Fellow at the Science Policy Research Unit, (SPRU), University of Sussex. A member of the Sussex Energy Group since 2013, Phil has researched and published on a number of topics related to energy transformations, and has a long-standing interest in nuclear power policy.
