A night of poetry, music and peace!
We are super excited to be able to give more details of our evening of poetry and music with ‘John Hegley and Friends’ at Hebden Trades Club.
It is impossible to think of peace and poetry without recalling the greatly missed Adrian Mitchell, Britain’s ‘shadow poet Laureate’ and lyrical voice of the peace movement. Adrian’s widow, the actress and campaigner Celia Mitchell (nee Hewitt) will be readings of some of his most popular poems and personal favourites and the legacy is continued via, the fabulously talented folk singer, Caitlin Stubbs, Adrian’s Granddaughter, who will also be joining us.
All performers are giving their time for free to raise vital funds for YCND’s Coaches for Peace – allowing us to subsidise coaches to the Stop Trident demonstration in London for those on low incomes. This may be our last chance before parliament takes a decision on Trident replacement to make our voices heard, we need to make this the biggest CND rally in a generation.
