We’re delighted to announce that the brilliant Rob Newman will be returning to Bradford’s Playhouse with his latest musings upon science – ‘The Brain Show’. Rob’s last benefit at the Playhouse with his fantastic ‘A New Theory of Evolution‘ show in 2014, raised almost £2,000 for local peace campaigning and destitute asylum seekers, we hope this time to sell out the whole venue and raise even more.
For anyone not yet familiar with Rob’s stand-up work, check out the brilliant ‘History of Oil’ DVD now available to view online. His more recent work – ‘Robert Newman’s Entirely Accurate Encyclopaedia of Evolution’ won the award for Best Scripted Comedy with a Live Audience at the BBC Audio Drama Awards and his new Radio 4 comedy series Robert Newman’s Neuropolis will be broadcast every Tuesday at 6.30pm from April 18th to May 9th.
Rob’s new book NEUROPOLIS – A Brain Science Survival Guide is published by Harper Collins in April 2017.
Tickets: £12 (waged), £7 (unwaged) available here.
Praise for The Brain Show:
“Hilarious… Delightfully eccentric throughout…” Nature
“Every time Rob Newman comes up with a new live show, it is beholden on all observers of comedy to pay attention. Not merely because of his great track record… but because he sets himself intellectual challenges beyond the grasp of many stand-up comedians, and produces material that genuinely forces audience to approach the world in a whole new way… this time around, in The Brain Show, he’s delving into the inner recesses of his cerebellum with a performance that mixes hard fact with dizzying flights of comedic fantasy” Guardian
