40th Day of Dance

40th Day of Dance

40th DAY OF DANCE SAT 26TH APRIL

This is a fantastic community event as well as a major fundraiser for Yorkshire CND.

Just a reminder that its time to get those bookings in for the Day of Dance at Saltaire on Saturday 26th April. We have a lovely choice of 40 different workshops for you with all the old favourites plus some new dance styles and new tutors – everything from salsa and swing-jive to Scottish country dancing and belly dance.

Also storytelling, hand reflexology, clowning/drama, drumming and yoga.

You can start the day gently with yoga or singing or sacred circle dance or get straight in there with Irish Set Dance or Strictly Come Dancing (not to mention Baroque and Not Strictly Belly Dance!) – and it carries on from there.

This our 40th Day of Dance so don’t miss out on celebrating it with us – we really do need as many people there as possible to keep this fantastic community event on the road.

Singers can also enjoy a workshop in each of the five timeslots with Ana Hayrabedian at 9.00am, a new Yiddish Songs workshop at 11.00am, Liz Narey at 1.00pm, the ever popular Ann Perry with a new workshop at 3pm and a very special talk with sing-songs with Joe Stead at 5pm to commemorate the life of Pete Seeger.

We have the usual great Family Ceilidh from 5pm – 6.30pm with Mrs Porter and her band, raising funds for the Chernobyl Children’s Project and a fantastic Evening Event from 8pm – 11.30pm. This time we have three live bands offering you three rooms of dance all on one ticket – the usual fantastic ceilidh in the main hall with the Polka Dots, a Klezmer Ceilidh and, new for the 40th Day of Dance, a swing/jive party with The amazing 309s – see www.the309s.com
