Peace Picnic (Bradford)

Pack your favourite sandwiches for PeaceJam’s picnic, jam-packed with family friendly activities exploring ‘what peace means to you’.
You can take part by:
- Joining the children’s peace scavenger hunt
- Adding your message to the World on the nuclear disarmament banner
- Decorating the communi-tree with a message of peace and unity
- Weaving your thoughts into the paper peace picnic blanket
- Creating your own placard for peace
About Hiroshima Day
At 8.15 am on 6 August 1945, Hiroshima in Japan was the first military target of a nuclear weapon in history. Most of the city was destroyed and by 1946 as many as 166,000 people died as a result of the attack and its effects. Hiroshima Day remembers the terrible consequences of nuclear weapons and promotes the vision of a peaceful future.
