Join Bradford CND for an afternoon of poetry, music, speakers, tea and cake.
About this event
We will be celebrating the first meeting of the UN member states who have signed the ICAN treaty banning nuclear weapons, remembering the wonderful peace campaigner Bruce Kent, and enjoying the Peace Museum’s pop-up exhibition Defining Peace.
Programme:
1.00 Welcome and refreshments
1.30 Microphone Jack – socio-political stand-up poet/rap artist and performer
2.00 Speakers and discussion – how do we make peace? A tribute to Bruce Kent. Michael Randle will be speaking about his new book – Rebel Verdict – and the Peace Museum will be launching the community banner they made for International Women’s Day 2022, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Greenham Common Peace Camp and Women peacemakers.
