Bike for Peace will have a bike ride in England from 26. August – 2. September 2022. We will be a group between 6 – 12 people from Norway.
Our bike route will be as follows: Leeds – Skipton – Carnforth – Preston – Rochdale and Bradford.
On this tour, we plan to meet with mayors, ambassadors, peace- and bicycle organizations and government officials.
Slogan:
1. A world without nuclear weapons.
2. Support the victims after the nuclear testing in Semipalatinsk, Marshall Islands,etc.
3. Bike for peace in Ukraine.
4. Encourage promotion of cycling as a low carbon form of transport.
The organizers of this bike trip are Mayor for Peace and Bike for Peace Norway.
26 Aug-Day 1
Arrival in Leeds
27 Aug-Day 2
Sightseeing on bike in Leeds. Maybe watch a football match in the evening.
One English mile is 1,6 Norwegian kilometer
28 Aug- Day 3
Sunday meeting with the mayor and with Fabian Hamilton (Member of the British Parliament) in Leeds. Start bike from Leeds to Skipton (30 English miles)
29 Aug- Day 4
Bike from Skipton to Carnforth (39 English miles)
30 Aug – Day 5
Bike from Carnforth to Preston (31 English miles)
31Aug- Day 6
Bike from Preston to Blackburn to Rochdale (35 English miles)
1 Sep –Day 7
Bike from Rochdale to Bradford (26 English miles)
2 Sep –Day 8
Sightseeing in Bradford and fly back from Leeds in the evening to Norway.
